The visual arts program at Elm Hill encourages students to explore, communicate, create, and think critically. Students make art not only with a variety of media, but also with imagination and heart. They are expected to do their best work with much patience and thought. They also learn how to utilize their observational and problem-solving skills by looking, questioning, brainstorming, testing ideas, reflecting and choosing the best solution to the problem. In addition, students learn about art history, cultures different from their own, and the connection between the arts, themselves and the world in which they live.
